I have not visited the site in some time and wanted to update my information. For 30 years I have been looking for Wolfhound Crest pins as mine were lots some time ago. Now tonight I located some on this web site, and Larry Milfelt, who is handling them a
d many other Wolfhound items only live a few miles from me! The Wolfhound spirit never dies -- once a Wolfhound always a Wolfhound.I am proud to BE a Wolfhound and am equally proud of all the other Wolfhounds both living and those that died as Wolfhounds.

In country September 66 and first assignment was to a transportation Company at Camn Ranh Bay as a stevedore. Assigned to A Company 2/27 but had orders changed to serve with my old XO at the 2nd/27th. Made it to HHC and was put in the Anti-Tank Squad where
I made Team Leader. Managed to survive Attleboro, Junction City and Cedar Falls but couldn't out run a bullet from "Friendly Fire". Didn't know then what I know now, that I could have stayed in. Went home to be a nobody but have managed to pull it all to
ether, after 21 years married and divorced, to become the National Sgt. at Arms for the Vietnam Veterans of America. I can be reached at the above number or at 516-659-7623 or 516-836-1233 or faxed at 516-488-6436 any time. To all of you who served in the

I was a draftee forward observer 11-c for 6 months
then transfered to Little Bears helicopters due to
problems with infections and the ability to direct fire from a huey. I am wondering if I could
get whatever medals I had coming as I got out after my tour in Vietnam and the service was not
that popular at the time. I'm older now obviously
and am nostalgic for what I had earned in my two years of service.

itoes, leeches, fire ants; the commands to "saddle up", eagle flights, the LP's, ambushes, the long walks in the sun, the firefights.... I will always remember the men I served with in the 2nd platoon. Charles A. Mckinney (Mustang Mac), Isaac "Doc" Taggar
, Bobby "Tex" Stanley, Franklin from Philly, Nate Freeny with his M60, Sal (Crazy Sal) Lascala, Willie (Cool Willie) Ross, Manselle, Dennis Daughtery from NY, Alvarez, Kairitas, Staton from Charlotte NC, Lt. Stewart, King, who was my mentor when I was an

Thanks for the site. Have visited several times and been meaning to let you know that I'm listed twice. "Fletcher, Mac" and "Makoto, Fletcher" are one and the same. No beef, just a stickler for accuracy.
See lot of familiar names here. Several that I'm still in touch with. Would love to hear from others. I, generally, remember Nam in terms of friendship and comradery. All in all, the year with Co.D, 1/27 was memorable. (Well, a little less than a ye
r, as I was transferred up to 23rd. Division when the 2nd Brigade, 25th Division stood down.)

I started my tour as 3rd. platoon leader C/2/27 in January at FSB Ried. Was XO for few weeks in March after Diamond then moved on to the Recon Platoon at the Sugar Mill. The last 60 days in country I was Asst. S-2 at 3rd. Brigade. I've been in touch wit
a few guys through the site. Thanks for the memories. A couple of weeks ago I was in Washington for a conference. I went to the Wall and found the names of some of our KIA's. Lt. Don Ide, Carl Tanzola, Bert Llamazales. It was very moving. A couple
f women asked if they could take a photo of me while I made rubbings of the names. They said they didn't know anyone who was killed in Viet Nam. So I told them about those men and it made them come alive. God bless.

Been awhile since I signed in. Coy and Gary you're really dedicated. I think you deserve some sort of medal. makes me feel like a slacker when I see all the work you do for us.

I served with the 116th Assualt Hel. Co. in Cu Chi in '69', some of the photos are of my flight platoon
(Yellowjackets) and brought back memories. The 116th has a website that some former Wolfhounds were kind enough to sign and praise the 'Hornets' for the
r support during the war, and I only felt that the proper thing to do was to reciprocate and to give thanks to all Wolfhounds for their part in keeping
mr. charles off our ass. You guys are the best!!

I have changed my e-mail address to firstdog with respect to my service as a Wolfhound. It is truly an honor to have served with such a fine outfit.I have never forgotten the time I spent as a Wolfhound and I think about it every day of my life. I was seri
usly wounded on 16 Jan. '68 during a Charlie Co. assault on a VC village in Hobo Woods. Haven't forgotten faces and names of those I served with. Although most memories are unpleasant, they are cherished just the same.
