Dear Site Administrator A few weeks ago I entered the name of a KIA friend of mine by the name of William "Buddy" Denman, KIA Nov. 5, 66. I entered his unit as Co A 2nd Bat, 27Inf, 25 Inf. Div. I heard from James June who informed me that he was in said company and was unable t recall Buddy. I checked him headstone and confirmed co A, 2Bn, 27Inf, 25 Inf div. I was an 11B20 that luckily was placed in the unit upon arrival in Viet Nam as a cook because our First Sergeant ( Remedez ) saw that I was from Farmersville, Texas. A little town just 20 miles from his home town of Celina ( Collin County ). None of the other cooks wanted to go to the field because of the heavy action we received in the early morning hours at Trang Bang, Hobo & Lobo woods, and at firebase Alpha, among just a few, and I was right at home with the guys in the field. I was able to bring th m dry socks and a few little treats such as canned peaches, etc. I really liked those guys. I helped whenever I could and often joined the mortar platoon in pulling charges on rounds and on the perimeter when we would get hit late at night by charlie. Also I would go on the sweeps, after we would get hit, searching for bodies and weapons. I'd sure like to hear from some of the guys to see how they are doing! My Best to you all!! Although I served in peace time, I had a Combat proven PSG (Martin Martinson)and a Combat proven Squad Leader (Willie Shaw). I will remember them for ever, they were the best at what they did. I do remember a Tran and was always impressed with him, he'd take his mini M-1 and run out in front of us when a fire fight ensued and was not the least afraid of the VC. I am a Wolfhound who unfortunatly saw the down sizeing of the 3/27 at Ft. Ord. I spent a year in the finest unit I have ever been in. Does anyone out there know the whereabouts of (Captain) Peter Elson? He was the C.O. of D 2/27 in 1967. He was a West Pointer from Mt Vernon, Ohio. He's listed in the Delta roster. My needs are personal. I was told in the hospital at the 12th Evac in Cu Chi that he had submitted me for a Silver Star for action the day before I was wounded (11-11-67), and that SFC Bill Carnahan (second platoon, B-2/27) was writing up Bronze Stars w/ "V's", for me and one other medic that worked for me, and for his radi man SP-4 Elzie Sanders, Jr. who saved my life and then got killed helping other wounded guys in that Nov 12th firefight. When I finally got my Army Comm w/ "V" decoration six months later for action on the day that I WAS wounded, the story sounded like mix of the prior day's action when I helped the patch up and evac the Delta Hounds wounded when they came to rescue our pinned down and dessimated ambush patrol. Some REMF clerk did some creative consolidation and downgrading to avoid having to type up a d staff two awards through the system for a Spec 5. I think Capt Elson could help straighten this out. Not so much for me, but for my kids and Elzie's parents in Smiths Grove, KY. All they received was his Purple Heart. 2/27 BRAVO-SIX-MIKE ... OUT

Found this site and had to sign-in. I recognized several names, but see some missing. One I shared a hootch with next to the motorpool. Lynn (Marcus) Thompson, the generator mechanic. I also want to thank the guy that left a Sanyo refrigerator behind. The 1st shirt said I could have it if I could get the rotten steak out! It would freeze beer on third of seven cold settings! I served with the 25th Infantry Division "A" Battery 7/11 Field Artillery Tay Ninh, RVN 1968-69. I now have Peripheral Neuropathy (PN), Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), high levels of arsenic in my bloo & urine (due to agent blue I believe). The VA just denies all claims except the PTSD, so what else is new. We must unite and fight for our benefits due for the Agent Orange damage done to us all! Like to say Happy New Year to all the Wolfhounds I'd like to say something about our up coming reunion in Sy. Louis. Mo in Sept of 2000 for the Wolfpack. These getogathers are about us as the continuity of the Wolfhound esprit d corp I wish to hear more o the internet about our up coming reunion in St. Louis ,Mo as a Wolfhound I like to be smothered amongst other Wolfhounds. I only hope we can in the future coordinate our reunions when we meet for our annul getoghters around our Wolpack reunions, so we c n have a great timme in moments togethers. I arrived in Nam with a fellow medic who was attached to the Wolfhounds. His name was David Foster. I attended his wedding in Austin Texas and we arrived in country together, both sent to the 25th. I went to the Bobcats. I noticed that his name in not on ny list, either the 1st or 2nd battalions. I know he wasn't killed because he's not listed on the wall. I'd appreciate any knowledge of Dave. Arrived in Nam in March 1966 and was assigned to the 25th supply and transport battalion. In September of 1966 (I think) I requested re-assignment with the 1/27th, which was granted.
