Humped the boonies with D Co. for six months out of FSB Chamberlain, Dau Tieng, Tay Ninh in 1969. (Michelin Plantation, too.) Later "promoted" to correspondent (i.e. grunt + camera)with "Tropic Lightning News" with HHC, 1/27. Wrote a lot of Wolfhound stories, and was able to hire my own helicopters to go--ANYWHERE. I took full advantage of this. Where is SP4 "Beaver" Hall from the CRIP Platoon? (From Spokane, WA)

Hi I was most recently, until my resignation, the reunion chair for the Wolfpack however due to a lot of mis-understanding and then a personal degradation of my integerty. I served somewhere around June-Sept 1968. I can not remember the names of anyone....except for bits and pieces. I got to Cu Chi where I stayed for 3 to 4 days and then sent out in the field where I stayed until I was wounded. I was wounded and sent bac to the world. Stayed in hospital having operations off and on for a year and volunteered to go back. Was sent back to MACV headquarters in Saigon. RA67110777 Very interested in getting information from that time period. I have a photo where I received my purple hert and a copy of the orders for the purple heart that has the date wounded and unit.

I was at Mahone 1 & II, the Old French Fort, remember some of the good times & alot of the bad. The ambushes, Ground attacks, the WIA & KIA. But will always remember & Be Proud, & Honored that I was with the best MEN & BEST UNIT in NAM. Bravo Hounds??? I just got back from the Wolf Pack Reunion in St Louis. I was the only Bravo representative there from 1st or 2nd Bat, and A Co, 1st Bat had a big crowd. It was a great time. I was with the 81mm mortors as a FO and later as the platoon leader. It's been 32 years and I'm now 53, everyone I know is getting older except for the ones who did not make it home. I was glad to find and surprise to find my name in Co.B 2/27th Inf. But that right. I was in second Platoon. But I was sad to find out Jones was Killed a month after I left. See the wolfhound website brong back alot. My 1st SG Chan after I left the hound in my 16 years of service and a second tour with the Cav 2/7th He was best 1Sg every knew. Also I remember SSG Brown one time I was about to go into a tunnel and when I lefted the lead we go ak fire I never seen a man jump so high trying to get out of th way of the fire. At Attleboro the night before we went in to try to help C Company we were at Tay Ninh and A cong slip up a set up a Chinese claymore and when he blew it it caved in the barrel of my weapon and next day we were going in and I had no weapo finally 1SG Chan gave me the armors weapon. On Jones and when the shooting started never seen a man dig a foxhole so fast with his hands But a great guy I will miss him . Mark Udell made the wall but he was a great friend we run together in Hawaii. And n thing he hated more then SGT Ha but he was a great combat soldiar. If I remember right I was on R&R when he got it. He would be shaking his head if he new I was a SSG E-6 when I got out of the Army. I try only to remember the good times. As any combat its pure terror. The mud, the Blood, the beer. And to think back on the year of l966 We wolfhounds really did make the cong live hard didnt we. But boy they sure made me eat a lot of dirt too. The only problem I have now is 10% on my foot I hurt in Recon scho l in l975 and I'm 70% PTSD an 20% unemployability. If I had it to do over again. Well I take PTSD Medacation. Sure! I'm proud to have servied with the Wolfhounds. But I miss Those who made the WALL. Never forget you Udell and you Jones. And all those wolf ounds who fought all side me. GO! Wolfhounds!
